The City Human Resource Management Office conducted the Basic Gender and Development (GAD) Orientation on May 12, 2026, at People’s Hall, New City Hall, Malaybalay City. This activity was supported by City Mayor Hon. Jay Warren Pabillaran and Magnolia O. Improgo DPA, CGDH I (CHRMO). There were seventy-eight (78) employees from various departments of the City Government of Malaybalay participated in the orientation. Ms. Sansehry Delos Santos, DPA served as the resource speaker who discussed fundamental GAD concepts, including the definition of terms and their legal bases, key GAD laws and policies. She also expounded on gender issues and analysis in the workplace, gender mainstreaming in programs and services, and gender-responsive workplace practices. The discussion highlighted the

importance of understanding GAD principles and legal mandates in creating an inclusive, respectful, and gender-responsive work environment. Participants were also guided in identifying gender issues and possible GAD interventions that can be integrated into workplace policies, programs, and service delivery. Through this orientation, employees gained increased awareness and understanding of their role in promoting gender equality and supporting the City Government of Malaybalay’s commitment to inclusive and gender responsive governance.
