In celebration of Women’s Month, the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) conducted a Women’s Empowerment Forum on March 19, 2026, at the SP Function Hall in Casisang, Malaybalay City. The activity was attended by 32 women employees of the City Government of Malaybalay. It aimed to recognize and celebrate women’s contributions in both personal and professional fields. Dr. Ma. Teresa G. Salumintao served as the resource speaker and discussed financial literacy. She shared practical knowledge on budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and basic financial planning to help participants improve their financial decision-making. As part of the celebration, a Photography Contest and an On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest were also held, anchored on the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society: Lead Like the Babaylans.”

In the Photography Contest, Chinimie Hiponia from the City Health Office won first place for her entry titled “Hands of the Modern Babaylan.” Mary Grace Albino, also from the City Health Office, placed second, while Chloe Jean B. Lastimoso from the City Agriculture Office secured third place. For the Essay Writing Contest, Mhegan L. Dominguez of the City Health Office won first place, followed by Christine Ching II of the City Accountant’s Office in second place. Gecel Quinquiño-Ocon of the City Agriculture Office ranked third, while Atty. Menchie Landicho-Dardo of the Sangguniang Panlungsod placed fourth. The activities provided a platform for women employees to express their creativity and share their experiences, while promoting empowerment, unity, and appreciation among city government personnel.
